Books, Loans, Renewals, Overdue Fines - Notes
Includes all College District and LINK+ transactions combined.
Renewals are allowed only if an item hold/recall has not been placed on behalf of another Library user. Renewals may be placed by Library staff or directly by the patron remotely no more than 3 days prior to the due date.
The current minimum book replacement cost is $25.00. Higher replacement costs may be charged according to fair market value of a replacement item. A Transcript/Registration Hold will be placed on student records until paid in full. There is a 1-week grace period for overdue books when a courtesy overdue notice will be sent. Billing notices will be issued after that time.
Exemption only with Librarian's recommendation and Library Director's permission. 14-day grace period.
Exemption only with Librarian's recommendation and Library Director's permission. 1-week grace period.
   1-week grace period.
Unless instructor or department chair provides written request and a librarian determines the item is not a high-use item. Allowed circumstances for student checkout include: 1. The item is necessary for a class presentation. 2. Special duplication needs such as color duplication of photographs; and 3. The Disability Instructional Service Center (DISC) office requests the item on behalf of a disabled student for purposes of format transcription. If the item is needed for the duration of a class, a 2-3-hour checkout will be allowed after staff verification of class duration. Unless the item is returned within 15 minutes of its due time, a $.50 per hour overdue charge will accrue and must be paid in full or checkout privileges will be blocked.
Permanent revocation of this borrowing privilege.
A librarian must first determine the item is not a high-use item. Allowed circumstances for faculty checkout include: 1. The item is necessary for class presentation, preparation or color duplication needs. 2. The item is necessary to confirm citations, correct papers or conduct research after hours. Overnight checkout requires item be returned within 1 hour of Library opening or within 1 hour prior to the start of the next scheduled class, or a $.50 per hour overdue charge will accrue and must be paid in full or checkout privileges will be blocked.
Unless a department chair provides a written request on department letterhead and a librarian determines the item is not a high-use item. Allowed circumstances for staff checkout include: 1. The item is necessary for department use or staff development, or 2. Departmental or special color duplication is needed. There is a 1-hour default checkout period up to a maximum of 3 hours upon request. Unless the item is returned within 15 minutes of its due time, a $1 per hour overdue charge will accrue and must be paid in full or checkout privileges will be blocked.
