Library Assistive/Adaptive Technology
 
Disabled students have priority for use of the following computers, equipment and study rooms.
 
The Disability Instructional Support Center (DISC) Lab will teach disabled students in the use of assistive technology they will be using in mainstream labs; Library staff is not expected to teach students how to use assistive technology.
 
Computers:
 
Public Computer #1: Large screen monitor
Public Computer #2
Public Computer #3
 
Room 244: Study Room 3 
 
Disabled students, whether an individual or in a group of two or more students, have priority for use of Room 244.
 
  • This room displays a wheelchair symbol near the door and includes:
 
    • 39” high counter to accommodate wheelchairs.
 
    • Restricted access computer with 21” monitor for easier viewing. This computer is reserved for the exclusive use of disabled library users.

  • Headphone Splitters

    Available at the Check Out Desk.

 
  • Audiocassette Tape Players

    Available in open library AV area.

 
  • CD/Audiocassette Tape Player/Recorders

    One is available at Check Out Desk, for DISC registered students only.

 
  • CCTV (Optelec) "ClearView 500"

    Available in open library AV area.

 
  • Disability Instructional Support Center (DISC) Headphones

    One headphone set has been supplied by DISC for use of DISC-authorized students. A DISC authorization letter, on DISC letterhead, must be presented at the Check Out Desk in addition to an official photo I.D. care for use of DISC headphones. The Library will not maintain separate lists, files or descriptions of DISC students. DISC Library users will be registered as any Library user.
