LIBRARY INTERNET & COMPUTER USE GUIDELINES
West Valley Mission Community College District students and employees have first priority on all public computers.More than 70 public computers are located on the southeast side of the Library and throughout the Library near stacks and support pillars.
Library staff is not expected to provide technical computer support for email or any computer programs. Students requiring access to additional application programs should be directed to the Technology Center.
Personal headphones are allowed on computer workstations at the individual's own risk if damage to personal headphones should occur. Headphones are also available at the Check Out Desk to borrow for use on public computers and stationary AV equipment.
The Library has a number of computers for use for research and library related activities.

Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Priority is given to students needing to use the computers for class assignments and research.

Unattended belongings may be removed to mitigate theft and/or allow access to the computer. Items may be kept at the Library’s lost and found.

Users may print black/white documents for ten cents per page and color documents for eighty cents per page.

Users must respect copyright restrictions and license agreements regarding computer hardware, software, and content in all formats (text, audio, and visual).

Using computers for illegal activities may result in prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
The Library staff makes no attempt to restrict access to any material in printed or visual form available on the Internet. Users should be aware that they may encounter materials that they may consider objectionable or offensive in nature. The Library does not assume responsibility for the contents of non-District web sites, but does encourage free inquiry of information resources as described in the West Valley-Mission Community College District’s Policy on Academic Freedom (Board Policy Manual 4.9).
According to the District's "Computer and Technology Use" guidelines users are responsible for maintaining the following: 1) an environment in which access to all District computing resources are shared equitably among users, 2) an environment conducive to learning, 3) an environment free of illegal or malicious acts and 4) a secure environment.
