Open-use VCRs/DVD Players are located in the audiovisual carrel section of the library directly in front of the tall open stacks and directly behind the Reference Collection. VCR/DVD equipment is also located in the study rooms. Mission College student users have priority on use of Library VCR/DVD equipment at all times. VCRs/DVD Players are otherwise available on a first-come, first-served basis. Headphones must be used with VCRs whenever sound is desired. Library users may use personal headphones or Library-owned headphones (see below). The Library assumes no responsibility for damage, loss or misuse of personally owned peripheral equipment used in the Mission College Library. For information about Adaptive Technology in the Library, see the section on Adaptive Technology in this manual.

 

Headphones for VCRs, audiocassette tape players and PCs will be checked out for 2-hour in-library use. Antibacterial cleaning wipes will be dispensed with Library headphones when available.

The Library has a few old audiocassette recorders/players available for faculty checkout only for classroom or lab use. Library users cannot use study rooms to record audiocassettes unless necessary for a group of 2 or more persons (see Library Facilities section – Study Room policies).
